Attarctions in Whitley Bay

Popular Attractions in Whitley Bay

The North East of England still remains fairly undiscovered ,according to a recent report, in terms of a destination for visitors on short mid week or weekend breaks. There are so many attractions in the North East that it is impossible to list them all here. There is however a "taster" of what sort of attractions are on offer both in Whitley Bay and further a field.

Whitley Bay itself benefits from a natural attraction, the beach. Yes. Whitley Bay beach is one of four fantastic beaches that run consecutively along this part of the North East Coast. Recently it has been awarded a Blue Flag Award and a British Seaside Award. The Sand is clean and the gently sloping beach provides a safe place to take children. During the summer months the beach is supervised by life guards and flags indicating how safe it is to venture into the water are displayed.

The views out across the North Sea are often dramatic and amazing, especially at sunrise and sunset. Whilst many might say that Whitley Bay may not look as good today as it did in days gone by when the town thrived from holiday makers, there is an exciting period ahead with a planned £60 million regeneration scheme underway at this present time.

If you click on the icons below you will be taken to the website of each of the related attractions and can then see what is on offer in our region.
