
Perhaps not the best signed post town in the UK, Whitley Bay is easy to get to, which ever means of transport you are using. By Road
The A19 and the A1 are the major road links to the area, Whitley Bay can be accessed via the A1058 east , next to the Tyne Tunnel.
By Air
Newcastle International Airport is around 40 minutes from the coast and has daily flights to and from many destinations world-wide. There are airport Taxis which will travel to Whitley Bay for around £25. Alternatively the Metro rail system links Whitley Bay to the airport and costs around about £3.50. Metro trains run frequently 7 days a week from about 6.00am to about 11.30pm
By Sea
DFDS Seaways and Fjordline offer excellent value for money as they sail to and from Holland, Sweden and Norway. The ferries leave from the International Ferry Terminal at North Shields, which can be accessed by car, bus or Metro. The journey takes about 10-15 minutes by car.
By Rail
Newcastle Central Station links our area with London, York and Edinburgh and is linked to Whitley Bay via the Metro train. The journey from Newcastle central station to Whitley Bay takes around 40 minutes and costs about £3.80.
By Coach .
National coachlines operate in and out of Newcastle, some actually travel to Whitley Bay, but it is worth checking with a local agent to check destinations and journey routes.
